Abstract

Pre-bloom application of Kinetin (150 ppm) proved very effective in maintaining freshness of Anab-e-Shahi bunches upto the end of storage. At the interval of 40 days, bunch appearance was best in the fruits treated with plant regulators but shrivelling and browning was conspicuous in control. Physiological loss in weight and berry shatter was least in the bunches treated with Kinetin 150 and 100 ppm at pre-bloom and second rapid growth stage of berry development. The CCC 4000 (ppm) applied at second rapid growth stage of berry development resulted in the highest percentage of TSS and total sugar content. Total titratable acidity increased with the progress of storage period. Although the ascorbic acid content was decreased in the treated and untreated (control) bunches, the plant regulators proved effective in retaining higher amount during storage.
