Abstract

Moisture stress during summer appears to be the major constraint for getting economic fruit yield of citrus in waste land having low water holding capacity. In such sites, fruit production in sweet lime could be increased significantly through supplementary irrigation and mulching the tree basins with dry grasses. Four irrigations at the rate of 60 lits/tree irrigation at fortnightly intervals during the months of April and May was considered to be optimum for economic yield of citrus raised in waste land of Dehra Dun valley.
