Studies on the pattern of segregation of Fj hybrid progeny obtained from ten intervarietal crosses is reported for berry size, shape and colour, and flower sex. For berry wtight a significant difference was observed in the progenies obtained from the same parentage. The large berry size was found to dominate in inheritance. In case of most of the segregants the sex of the flower was found to be hermophrodite (male fertile), but in the progeny obtained from Angur Kalan (male sterile variety) as a parent, the frequency of male sterile was high. The overall segregation for sex of the flower indicated that the parents included in this study were genetically not pure for this trait. Berry shape was found to exhibit high variabilty indicating polygenic control of the character. The green colour of Anab-e-Shahi and Queen of the Vineyards was found to be genetically pure.
