Abstract

Differential pruning on head system of training was conducted on Delight grape. An increase in number of canes/vine from 12 to 20 and buds/cane from 3 to 5 showed a little accelerating effect on bunch counts whereas larger number of cane and/or bud treatments increased fruitful shoots and vegetative shoots remarkably. The first six buds in shoots were fruitful and third and fourth buds yielded maximum bunches. The 20 canes/vine and 4 buds/cane treatment produced the maximum crop whereas none of the treatments affected the bunch-berry development, TSS and acidity of the fruits.
