Abstract

The three different growth curves viz. Linear, Exponential and Quadratic were estimated for the various ESP levels and different plant characters for different days intervals. No functional relationship was significant for 180 days interval for all the character under study. Out of the three functional relationships estimated the quadratic function was found to be more appropriate after 420 days intervals. In the case of height, and number of leaves the linear and exponential functional relationship was also significant from 300 days interval onwards and 240 days onwards, respectively. From the regression coefficients (b) of linear and exponential, and partial regression coefficients (c) attached to (X2) in quadratic function, it is revealed that the rate of decline in height, number of leaves, stem diameter increased with increasing number of days from planting. The maximum doses of ESP beyond which the plant growth did not sustain at the final stand of 580 days were 5.84, 1.14 and 4.38 respectively for height, number of leaves and stem diameter, respectively.
