Abstract

Apsylla cistellata was found to be fairly common on mango trees in several localities situated between 800 to 1360 M ASL in hill valleys of districts of Nainital and Almora. Against the adults of this pest three sprays of methyl demeton, dimethoate, monocrotophos, methyl parathion, endosulfan and diazinon, all at 0.03 per cent, at 15 to 20 days interval and starting from last week of March were found very effective. The embroyos and nymphs of this pest could be effectively controlled by spraying the trees twice with methyl demeton, dimethoate and phosphamidon each at 0.05, 0.075 and 0.125 per cent and with monocrotophos at 0.075 and 0.125 per cent during the month of August and September.
