Abstract

Studies were conducted on the control of floral malformation of mango cv Dashehari with the help of exogenous application of antimalformins and growth regulators. The results suggested causative role of malformins in floral malformation of mango. The antimalformins namely 2240 ppm glutathione, 2110 ppm ascorbic acid and 600 ppm silver nitrate resulted in the disappearance of malformins from the treated malformed panicles and these panicles fruited like healthy control. Since these anti-malformins also had no adverse effect on fruiting of normal panicles they can be used as whole tree spray for controlling the floral malformation of mango.
