Abstract

The sex ratio (male: female) in 20 November sowing was low (3.86) and 20 January sowing gave highest sex ratio (8.48). The drier irrigation treatments 0.6 IW/CPE ratio had narrower sex ratio (5.84) as compared to that of the irrigation at 1.2 IW/CPE iatio (7.28). December sowing produced higher number of fruits per vine (1.73) and irrigation at 1.2 IW/CPE gave maximum fruits per vine (1.58). Average weight of fruit was highest in 30 December sowing (2.34) and 1.0 and 1.2 IW/CPE ratios produced heavier fruits. Higher number of fruits per hectare was noted in 30 December and 20 January sowing (102.68 and 101.75, respectively) and 1.2 IW/CPE ratio produced more number of fruits (98.28) Yield was significantly more in 30 December and 20 January sowings (247.75 and 237.35 g/ha, respectively) and 1.0 and 1.2 IW/CPE irrigation ratios (222.73 and 217.67 g/ha).
