Parimullai, a difficult to root clone of Jasminum auriculatum did not show any response to application of IBA or NAA over concentrations ranging from 10 ppm to 3000 ppm. Hot water treatment, top application of auxin, basal wounding and pre-treatment of parent bush with IBA/NAA spray also failed to initiate rooting. But etiolated shoots, when treated with 1000 ppm of IBA by quick-dip- method for ten seconds and planted in intermittent mist produced 60 per cent rooting.
