Abstract

Phenotypic as well as genotypic variabilities were studied in 13 varieties of Ber (Zizyphus manritiana Lamk) at Agricultural Research Station, Vallabhnagar during the fruiting season of 1976. High genetic coefficient of variation was observed for fruit weight, yield (kg/plant) and pulp/stone ratio. High heritability and high genetic advance coupled with high genetic coefficient of variations was observed for yield (kg/plant) and pulp/stone ratio. It is suggested that the improvement in these characters can be brought about by practising selection.
