Earliness in grapes has been studied in the progeny of four crosses and their pooled effect. The study revealed that by reducing the sprouting to flowering and flowering to harvest period, earliness in grapes can be achieved. Grape varieties having less sprouting to flowering period or longer pruning to sprouting period shall be desirable to be included in breeding programme to induce earliness in grapes.
