To find out the optimum plot size of Jasminum grandiflorum an investigation was taken up on five and half years old field grown bushes of uniform size and vigour. The analysis showed that increase in plot size above 6 plants in this species did not bring about commensurate reduction in the C.V. Apart from this, Fairfield Smith's coefficient showed that the field was fairly uniform and the reduction in variability with increase in plot size was very slow. Based on the values obtained 6 plants appears to be optimum and can be recommended for future trials.
