Studies on Naturally Occurring Cytokinins in Dioscorea Floribunda

Two cytokinin like substances termed DFj and DF₂ active in soybean cotyledon callus test were detected in the freshly harvested tubers of Dioscorea floribunda. The factors DF! and DF₂ were tentatively identified as Zeatin and Zeatin ribsoside, respectively, based on their behaviour in Sephadex LH 20 column chromatography and paper chromatography.
