A taxonomic study based on product moment, correlation coefficient and distance co-efficients was carried out on 42 cultivars and species of vitis utilizing 92 plant characters. The results of the ‘weighted—pair—group method of clustering were most useful to clarify indistinct groups of correlation and distance co-afficients. Similarity diagram was found useful in depicting the relationship between certain cultivars not apparent in dendrograms as well as in explaining the sequence of the OTU's in affinity groups.
