Abstract

The pruning weight was maximum in severe pruning. Growth of shoots was faster in pruned trees than in the unpruned trees. Pruning treatments decreased the number of shoots. The fruit set and fruit retention was increased by light pruning. Heavily pruned treee produced significantly heavier and bigger sized fruits. The fruit yield was maximum in unpruned trees. The light pruning treatment yielded more fruits amongst the pruning treatments. The pruning treatments appreciably improved the fruit quality.
