Abstract

The results of the experiment showed that the short or long internode thick cuttings gave the best (73.3 per cent) sprouting and rooting, maximum number of roots (15.8 to 19.2), length of the root (21.2 cm to 22.6 cm), maximum diameter of the thickest root (5.2 to 6.4 mm) and maximum length (73.6 to 89.3 cm) and diameter of (7.2 to 7.4 mm) the sprout per rooted cutting. IBA treatments showed poor results in respect of all these characters. For obtaining best rooting and best shoot growth, cuttings from Perlette grapevines be prepared as ‘thick cuttings with short or long internodes’.
