Abstract

Heterobeltiosis to the extent of 7.84 per cent for days to 50 per cent flowering; 53.73 per cent for pod number; 14.39 per cent for pod weight; 25.29 per cent pod length; 12.22 per cent for pod thickness; 64.93 per cent for pod yield; 20.27 per cent for height at first fruiting node; 32.49 per cent for plant height; 63.33 per cent for branches number; 27.25 per cent for internodal distance and 27.52 per cent for seed number was recorded.

The best performing Fi hybrids P-l × P-2 and P-l × P-3 which gave 64.93 and 60–81 per cent higher yield than the better parent can be exploited for commercial production.
