Abstract

Three nematicides viz., aldicarb, carbofuran and phorate each at 2, 4 and 6 kg a.i. per ha were evaluated under glasshouse conditions for the control of Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb infecting acid lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swing.) and Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid and White) Chitwood infecting grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.). Aldicarb at 6 kg a.i. per ha gave maximum reduction in parasitic nematode population both in soil and on roots followed by aldicarb at 4 kg and carbofuran at 6 kg. There was direct correlation between the concentration of the nematicide and reduction in nematode population.
