Fifteen mango varieties collected from various parts of India were studied for their performance at Fruit Research Station, Rewa during the period from 1982 to 1987. The varieties Langra, Summer Bhaist Chausa, Mallika, Dashahari and Neelum seem to be vigurous so far as the vegetative characters like, height of plant, canopy height, spread of the plant (N↔S) and (E↔W), volume of the plant, circumference of root stock and scion are concerned. On the basis of first year of flowering behaviour, the varieties Suvarnrekha, Vanraj, Langra, Kesar and Fernandin appeared to be earlier. Neelum, Fajri, Bangalora and Mulgoa proved as late varieties. Neelum, Langra and Bangalora were higher yielder, as compared to other varieties under investigation. Physical and chemical analysis showed better values of the chemical constituents in reputed varieties like Langra, Mallika, Dashahari and Alphanso.
