Metroglyph and index score analysis of 39 indigenous and few exotic varieties of brinjal was carried out. There were five distinct morphological complexes could be recognized, particularly on the basis of total yield per plant and number of days to first harvest. Within group morphological variations were of a low order. Majority of the high scoring varieties were induced in group III and V characterized by earliness and high yield.
