Abstract

A method of trunk injection consisting of rocker sprayer with injector needle and a pressure gauge has been standardised. The highest uptake of water by the trees was recorded during May and lowest during January. A positive correlation in the uptake of water by the trees was found with temperature, sunshine, evaporation, irrigation interval and trunk girth and a negative correlation with relative humidity. Hourly and cummulative uptake of water in relation to injection times exhibited decreasing and increasing trend respectively.
