Abstract

The experiments indicated that stone grafting could be most successfully adopted from mid August to mid September under sub-tropical conditions of Jammu on 10 day old mango rootstock which gave 50 to 55 per cent success. The scion shoots of 4 to 4.5 months age variety Dushehari were found to be the best for stone grafting The success with splice (57.0 per cent) followed by side (46.0 per cent) and veneer (40.0 per cent) was better than wedge and saddle (27 and 24 per cent). Besides, splice being efficient, economic and convenient could be commercially adopted in the field.
