Abstract

A field trial was conducted with three levels of N viz. 200, 400 and 600 g N tree−1 to find out its impact on the nutrient status of apricot orchard soil at three soil depths viv. 0–15, 15–30 and 30–60 cm. Soil pH decreased with increased N fertilization and was higher in the deeper soil segments. Increased N rate raised the level of available N, K and Mg while that of organic C and P were better with 400 g N. Exchangeable Ca, however, did not alter with enhanced N supply. In general, availability of different nutrients decreased with increased soil depth.
