Based on vegetative and fruit characters of 59 ber (Indian jujube) cultivars, a key for identification has been prepared using 3 tree growth habits (erect, semi-erect and spreading) as primary characters, 6 fruit shapes and 3 leaf shapes as secondary characters and styler fruit end, pulpcavity, leaf apex and leaf base as tertiary characters. The cultivars have been divided into 3 groups based on primary characters and 18 sub-groups based on the secondary characters.
