Abstract

The pointed gourd introduced in the Chotanagpur region showed high phenotypic variance in yield per plant, fruit length, liuit volume and number of shoots. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance was noticed in fruit length, fruit volume, yield per plant and number of shoots. Significant positive correlation between yield per plant and number of fruits revealed the possibility of an effective selection programme in order to improve the yield.
