Abstract

With the forthcoming concept of biochemical basis of resistance, it was found from the present study that resistant and susceptible genotype posses different level of sugars and phenols, to be more specific, higher phenolics appear to be responsible for rendering resistance and sugars are playing important role for rendering susceptibility as indicated by positive correlation with sugar and negative correlation with phenols.
