Investigations carried out at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore from 1982–83 to 1984–85 indicated that alternate and widely spaced furrow irrigation with 20 mm water can result in substantial saving in irrigation water to the extent of about 40 per cent without any adverse effect on the productivity of sweet pepper as compared to every furrow irrigation with 40 mm water.
