Effect of Muiching and Shade on Yield Quality and Leaf Nutrient Composition of Coorg Mandarin

Coorg mandarin seedlings under open and shade with mulching were studied at Central Horticultural Experiment Station, Chethalli, Coorg. Under open conditions, fruit production and yield were higher than shade. Mulching under open condition recorded the maximum fruit length, breadth, weight and yield/tree. The quality was higher under open mulch than under shade. Leaf nutrient content was also significantly higher under open mulch than shade. Coorg mandarin under open gave higher yield with good quality fruits than trees under overhead shade.
