Effect of Pretreatment of Stock Plants with Ethrel and Cycocel on the Rooting of Air Layers in Loquat

Studies on th< effect of pre-treatment of stock plant with ethrel (250 ppm) and cycocel (1000 ppm) and treatment with IBA (3000 and 5000 ppm) and PHB (200 ppm) on root fo-mation in air layer of loquat showed that pre-treatment of stock plant with ethrel or cycocel followed by treatment with IBA alone or in conjunction with PHI: was effective in increasing rooting and improved characters. Pre-treatment of sto;k plant with ethrel at 250 ppm followed by application of IBA 5000 ppm 4- PFB 200 ppm caused 100 per cent rooting success with 70 per cent plant survivality
