Abstract

A field trial conducted for 3 years included 3 spacings (cm): 15 × 10, 15 × 25; 3N levels (kg N/ha): 0, 75 and 150; and 2 levels of P (kg P2O5/ha): 0 and 60. The results indicated closer spacing of 15 cm × 10 cm and N fertilization with 75 kg N/ha were found to be optimum for onion (cv. Nasik Red) grown on sandly clay loam of Bangalore.
