Abstract

Screening of 151 F1 hybrids of 35 inter-specific combinations revealed susceptibility to be dominant with polygenic control: Pooled analysis of resistant and susceptible hibrids suggested the possibility of susceptibility being governed by three pairs of alleles. V. labrusca and V. rotundifolia appeared to be gcxxi sources of resistance. In reciprocal crosses, proportion of resistant hibrids was less suggesting the role of cytoplasm affecting this proportion.
