Perental, F1, F2, B1 and B2 generations of ten crosses derived from twelve inbred lines were used by estimation of gene effects for important fruit characters namely fruit length, fruit diameter and fruit weight. Most of the interacting crosses relealed duplicate epistasis. In majority of the crosses pre-dominance of dominance X dominance (l) gene effect was observed for all these characters. Improvement of fruit characters through heterosis breeding has been suggested.
