Influence of ethylene absorbents on shelf life of guava fruits

The Celite-permanganate mixture as ethylene absorbent was more promising as compared to silicagel-permanganate mixture for storage of non-climacteric fruit guava. The storage of fruits in low density polyethylene bag with Celite-permanganate mixture showed minimum physiological loss in weight, slower ripening during storage and the fruit quality was comparable.
