Pre-harvest sprays of calcium compounds, particularly 0.6% Ca as calcium chloride, improved fruit weight and aril percentage, pulp: peel and pulp: stone ratio. Fruit quality in tenns of TSS, total and reducing sugar content was much better in Ca(NO3)2 sprayed fruits while TSS: acid and sugar: acid ratio was more with CaCl2 spray as Ca(N03)2 treatment developed more acidity. Ascorbic acid contentwas higher in Ca(NO3)2 treated fruits.
