Abstract

Studies on the effect of aneuploid No. 82 rootstock of guava on growth and yield of Allahabad Safeda were conducted. It was observed that aneuploid No. 82 induced substantial dwarfing of Allahabad Safeda in terms of plant height, plant spread and tree volume. The overall yield/unit volume of the plant was the highest in aneuploid No. 82 which indicated a strong potentiality of its being used as a dwarfing rootstock on commercial scale for increasing the production and profitability of guava orchards.
