Comparative studies were conducted on the flowering, fruiting, yield and other physico-chemical characteristics of Flordasun and new introduction TA-170. The variety TA-170 showed distinct earliness in ripening by one week, better keeping and shipping quality, and relative resistance to fruitfly attack in comparison to Flordasun. This variety appear to be suitable for cultivation under the sub-tropical climate of Punjab and adjoining areas.
