Abstract

Standardization of N, P, K Ca and Mg ranges in apple cv. Lord Lambourne by solution culture technique were carried out at Regional Horticultural Research Station, Mashobra, Shimla. Significant effect of substrate nutrient level, within the range studied of each nutrient was observed on seedling height, shoot and root dry weight, shoot/root ratio and respective nutrient concentration in the leaves. Based on these parameters and also on the appearance of visual deficiency and toxicity symptoms, broad nutrient ranges are suggested for categorizing the nutrient status of apple plants into deficient, low, optimum and high range.
