From the observations noted above, it will be seen that the stature and fruiting habit of the papaya are highly influenced by the environment, season of planting and the treatment given to roots and shoots, while transplanting the tree in its final position in the orchard. Characters such as dwarfness and fruiting low on the trunk, can be easily manipulated in the case of all papaya varieties, by planting them in seasons other than the monsoon.
