Fifty four diverse brinjal genotypes were studied. Number of fruits had the highest positive correlation followed by number of branches with fruit yield. Further partitioning of genotypic correlations revealed that number of fruits and fruit breadth had high direct effect on fruit yield followed by fruit length. Thus, while exercising selection, the number of fruits, fruit length and fruit breadth should be given more emphasis for getting increased yield in brinjal.
