Abstract

Variability and correlation studies were conducted in 12 varieties of China aster. Observations recorded on nine traits indicated that plant height, stem scar diameter and number of flowers showed high frequency of genotypic correlations suggesting their use as selection indices. The estimates of heritability and co-heritability showed that aU characters were controlled by additive gene effects.
