Six basal media viz. MS, Navaro, 8–5, White and Nitsch were used in the induction of nucellar embryogenesis for the ovules of Citrus reticulata cv. Khasi Mandarin. The results revealed that MS medium was the best for inducing embryogenesis and increasing weight of embryoids without any supplementation. The inorganic salts such as ammonium nitrate, calcium chloride, potassium phosphate (dibasic) and potassium iodide showed significant association with the embryogenesis and weight of embryoids. Response of polynomials were fitted.
