Abstract

For controlling fruit gummosis, almond trees of cv. Nonpareil were sprayed with different concentrations of silver nitrate at two distinct stages viz. petal fall and half grown fruit stage. Silver nitrate spray at petal fall was found to be ineffective in reducing the incidence of almond gummosis, whereas with advanced stage of fruit growth, its spray particularly at 150–200 ppm markedly controlled gummosis.
