Apple seedling (Malus pumila Miller var. domestica Schneid) growth and nutrition were compared over a range of calcium levels — 12.5, 62.5, 125.0, 187.5 and 250.0 ppm in solution culture. Fresh and dry weight of root and shoot were affected significantly by calcium treatments while seedling growth, RGR, NAR and LAR remained unaffected. Similarly, increased calcium concentrations in solution culture enhanced the uptake of phosphours, calcium and manganese contents in leaves, stem and roots. Uptake of nitrogen, potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc decreased with the increased calcium concentration.
