Effect of different training systems on growth and yield of sponge gourd
Abstract
Experiment was conducted during summer and kharif with four training systems in sponge gourd. Significant differences were observed in 3m high trellis and bower system. The highest yield of 590.92 q fruits/ha was recorded in bower system which was 36 per cent more than control. Plants grown on 3m high trellis produced 579.92 q fruits/ha with an increase in yield of 33.41 per cent over control. Thus, cultivation of sponge gourd on bower and 3m high trellis for higher yield is recommended.
