An experiment was conducted to study the influence of irrigation regimes and nitrogen on the dry matter accumulation pattern and floral characters. Irrigation at IW/CPE of 1.2 resulted in significantly higher dry matter accumulation and increased spike length, rachis length and number of flowers per spike. Increase in the level of nitrogen resulted in significantly higher dry matter accumulation and higher spike length, rachis length and number of flowers per spike.
