Effect of phosphorus on nutrient uptake and growth in starking delicious apple on MM 106 rootstock

A nutritional trial was laid out in pot culture on apple cv. Starking Delicious on MM 106 root-stock. The effect of different levels of phosphorus, viz., 0, 50, 100, 200 and 100+lime 50 mg/kg on dry soil basis showed low availability of applied P and uptake by the plants. Application of lime increased the growth and availability of P. Leaf N, P, K, Zn and Mn decreased at high level of P, whereas addition of lime had synergistic effect on their uptake.
