Seeds of three varieties and one pure line were treated with gamma rays at 10, 20 and 30 k rad dosages. Lower doses of gamma rays showed stimulatory effects and higher doses showed inhibitory effects with respect to seed germination percentage. Germination was early by one day at 10 k rad and it was delayed at higher dosages. The seedling height and spread were reduced as the dosage is increased.
