Abstract

Path-coefficient analysis of yield components revealed that though bunch length had the highest positive correlation with bunch weight, the other characters like finger weight, number of hands and leaf breadth had greater role to play in expression of yield. Path analysis of quality parameters with TSS revealed that though acidity had high positive correlation with TSS, the other parameters like fruit length and pulp weight had influenced TSS strongly. Thus, due importance should be given to the characters like finger weight, number of hands per bunch and finger length for improvement of yield and quality in banana.
