Effect of deblossoming on fruit size, yield and quality of guava cv. Kazi Piara

Heavier fruits, higher yield per plant and maximum TSS(%) were obtained from the deblossomed plants than those of control. However, the highest fruit yield both by number and weight was obtained from the plants allowing single flower per node. On the contrary, the longest, widest and heaviest fruit, and also the highest TSS of both mesocarp and endocarp were obtained from the plants when deblossomed on May 31. The number of broken branches and concurrent fruit loss per plant were also found to be minimum in the same deblossoming treatment.
