Abstract

In cauliflower (maturity group II), six crosses involving five parents were assessed to determine the magnitude of heterosis (Heterobeltiosis), in-breeding depression and combining ability. The hybrids Poosi × Pant Subhra and 12-C × Improved Japanese exhibited significant heterosis over better parent for most of the characters. 12-C × Improved Japanese showed significant inbreeding depression for all the characters. The Poosi (line) and Aghani (tester) were good general combiner for yield and its major component characters.
